  1. How can I Duplicate a DV tape with only one Camera? I have plenty of Hard drive space to capture to if that's the way to go.

    Glad to see ya back!

Wazzup, your "continuity director" won't let you borrow her Optura ?

I think an hour is only about 13 gigs (AVI), so go for it. I usually have about nine tapes from a wedding, each with an average of forty-five minutes or so and it all takes around 100gigs.

I suppose you could "AVI it", then export back to tape, but it'd be simpler to meet up with someone who had another digital camcorder. Camera quality shouldn't matter once the video's been shot, cause it's digital.

  3. I'm on vacation right now, and only have access to my laptop. I'll have to "AVI" it. I was sort of embarassed to ask, sorry.

How would you accomplish this with 2 cameras? Firewire I assume? I've never tried it...

firewire the two cams together, make sure your in/out settings are right on each camera. put the original in one, blank in other and start recording..

Will this then be an exact digital clone of the original tape?
