Premier Pro + ala carte or CS5.5 ??

    Which would be a better investment choice? It appears that a couple of the programs which are included in the " creative suite " may not have much appeal for me.

   Add up the pricing of the components you want, see if they total MORE than the full suite. Pretty straightforward decision based on budget and total.

   Even if it comes close to the total, you may want to consider the entire package.  Especially since upgrading comes at a reduced price.

   You may be surprised at how much you will wind up using Photoshop and Illustrator.

   I use Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects in nearly every video project, even though I edit on Vegas Pro.  At the time I found it best to get the entire suite, and may even find use for the other programs down the road.
