Augh. This is a tough choice for me. I've decided on the TRV38, because from what I've learned, it's a pretty decent camera and I found it for $450. The only problem is that this is my first camera, and I don't want to be making the wrong choice here. That's a lot of money to invest on something. I'm 14 with no job, so this is putting a dent in my savings =). If anyone has any positive suggestions or feedback about the camera or about making such a purchase, it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I'll probably never get over myself... sigh.

First, It's good to see young folk interested in videomaking!
Second, remember that the camera is just a tool. The model you mention, if it's in good shape, can easily help you learn a lot about making videos. It will be fine for learning shot framing, visual storytelling, and lots and lots more that you'll need to know if you want to keep learning about videomaking.
It sounds like it is a lot of money from your perspective. So be careful and make sure your parents agree that this is a good way to spend your hard earned money!

If so, have a great time using your camcorder to learn a whole new way to communicate with the world.

    Good luck!

Thanks. I actually changed my mind after doing some further research, and chose the Panasonic PV-GS70. It's a 3CCD cam, and I'm pretty excited about it. Can't wait until it arrives.
