Canon USA Confirms It Will Not Attend PMA 2010

"We find that product life cycles are moving so much faster and
that product introductions are happening in such shorter time frame
that we needed to be much more agile," Peck said. "And we find that
trade shows are very locked into specific times which somewhat
limits what we want to do."

We just got in town and wrapped up a dinner with Sony. I'll keep you updated if we see anything cool. Keep me in the loop if you hear about anything we need to see!

Here are some photo's from PMA. Like Macworld, PMA was much smaller than years past.

    Check out this lens!

That's right! $38,000 for this monster!

Photoframes by Hoodman are a really cool concept for Videographers/Photographers who wear glasses, literally flip up the lens and your set.

CES was set on 3D, Macworld was all about iPod and iPhone accessories. PMA with what little video it had on hand; the primary focus seemed to be on waterproof and generally overall rugged cameras so it seemed like every major exhibit had demonstration areas with camcorders submerged underwater and scattered around in sand pits. Although there was talk about video and stills coming together in one platform, rough, rugged cameras were the talk of the town.

The lines are blurring between both markets. The companies I spoke with video is definitely a focus in future models and accessories.

Here is an example of one of the many exhibits that flaunted rough and rugged cameras!

It's always cool to see everyone's rigs at these events. DSLR's are becoming more common for video coverage.
