Please help: wmv - flv converter « Videomaker Community Forums

Hello everyone,
Would anyone be so kind please to help me with a problem I have.
I would like to conver a .wmv file to a flash file .flv
and I would really appreciate a free program that can do this.
I have already googled it but could not find any free program.
If you know, please let me know. I will really appreciate it.

Hmm. Since flash is licensed and owned by Adobe, you probably won't be able to find a free way to accomplish the transfer.

I know Sorenson Squeeze, and Adobe Premiere CS3 will allow you to do the transfer. If you don't have these programs perhaps find a friend or other video enthusiast who does?

Oh, I'm quite sure it can be done for free. Check out the Doom9 forum. It is the definitive source for file conversion tutorials/software.

It's not free but for $39 you can get On2's Flix Standard. It is great - I use it all the time - It will convert from just about any video format (MOV, MPG 1 & 2, WMV, AVI, etc....) to SWF or FLV. I have yet to find anything that it won't handle for me.\
