I happened to catch a TV interview (subject not important), and in the background was a computer monitor. It appeared to be at least 30". I know it was a computer monitor because the content was computer related. Has anyone seen something like this or know anything about it (as in where to purchase it)?

Was it LCD or CRT technology? Most monitors of that size are usually LCD - and very expensive. Another alternative is that many video cards have an analog TV out, which may be s-video or composite (RCA). I've connected my computer to a huge HD television (I think it was 50" or so) and it worked very well. It would be great for playing computer games. You can check http://www.tigerdirect.com. They carry a whole line of large size LCD TV's that accept direct VGA inputs as well.

Mitsubishi used to make cathod-ray-tube based computer monitors that were 30 inches diagonal plus.

As I recall, they were very expensive and VERY heavy.

I don't know if they still make them or not.

As others have posted, most of today's large screen progressive displays are either LCD or Plasma.

Try a web search and you might find a source.

    Good luck!
