On-Camera light

   I have a DVC60, and it's been super for more than a year now.
   I have a new Frezzi light, and I'm wondering whether I need to have a 1.5" stud to connect the light to my shoe, or a 3" stud?
   Does the height make a difference?
   I'll mainly use it in dimly lit rooms, i.e. wedding receptions, etc.
