Hello.
I have an Nvidia Quadro GeForce 8600 as a video card right now. I plan on using Vegas 8.0 pro, Boris Red, and hope to get After Effects, and maybe some other effects programs, as the budget permits.
I guess my question is how much difference is there going to be between an Nvidia GeForce 8600 and, say, an Nvidia Quadro FX 570, an FX1400, and an FX 4500? There are some great deals out there right now, but are they worth investing in? How much of a difference will it make? Is it worth it?
I have some issues getting Red to go right now, but I am hoping those will get ironed out. I expect to have this machine probably for another 2-1/2 to 3 years.
