no picture with Canon Elura 100 and DV Rack 2.0

   I'm trying to shoot my first video with DV Rack and my Canon Elura 100 thru my laptop and I have no picture. I have audio going thru a shotgun mic which is 12 feet away and I'm picking it up and DV Rack registers the Camera for audio. Running Windows Vista and am connected thru the firewire ports on my camera and laptop (6 ft cord). What could be the problem?
