New Canon XL2

    Has anyone seen the new Canon XL2? It is awesome. It builds on the XL1s, plus some key features like:

    60i, 30p, and 24p frame rates

    Two XLR inputs

    A standard 20x zoom lens with two ND filters

    16:9 aspect ratio

    Built in BNC termanal

    Looks like a well built camera. But i think it is overdue. Look out for the HDV cameras hitting the market soon. And at $5,000, the XL2 seems only worth getting if you already have the extra lenses.

    Maybe.... but I don't know of any other camera that allows the control of image that the XL2 does....

    The XL2 is a great camera. The HDV camera is good if you are shooting in HDV and your product remains in HDV. If not there is no advantage. In regular DV mode the HDV camera looks no different than any other camera in it's price range.
