Minolta Master C-3300 (to fix or not to fix)

   I bought a Minolta Master C-3300 from a guy on craigslist the other day. When I plug it in a put in the tape, the viewfinder lights up but it will not show a camera image.

   I have read that the CCD may be bad or need to be cleaned. Since I bought this camera for $5, I do not want to just spend hundreds of dollars fixing it. How can I trouble shoot this device? There is no online support for this model that I have found.

   Any clues would be great
