MiniDV playback trouble

   I have bought Samsung D371 to use it as a MiniDV player. The tapes are coming from different sources. Samsung won't play 2 tapes out of 4. The video is OK, but the audio sounds squeaky in the camcorder and continuously breaks ups while being firewired into computer. All the tapes play well in the professional DVCPRO (DV compatible) machine.
   
   Any ideas?

   Where are the tapes from? What were they recorded with?

   Thanks for reply. I fixed the problem by returning the Samsung to the store and buying Canon. I had to pay $100 difference though. But it's working now.

   It could have been the audio 12/16 setting.
