They are very easy to make. A mic flag is simply a plastic box turned upside down with a hole drilled in it.
the inside of the box is stuffed with two pieces of foam, the microphone is sandwiched in between the foam, the friction keeps the flag at the top of the mic...usually. I'm a TV reporter and they never seem to stay at the top of the mic. I always end up using my thumb to prop it up there. I made a flag at home just for fun out of a plastic swiss army watch box. Took me about 10 minutes to rip the lid off and drill it. Then I made my own logos on the computer and essentially laminated them to the flag with clear packing tape.
You must have a plastic box laying around!! Have fun...they're great for news parodies...yes we make them too. What else do you think we show at the X-mas party.
