Since it doesn't seem to be taking with the fast and furious crowd here I'll also pipe in: first, I buy me MY toys first, then if anything is left over I'll consider "gifting" you with a DVW-970.

• Twelve Zoom H2's a recording
• Eleven 32Gig Memory Cards a taping
• Ten Lectrosonic wireless mics for audio
• Nine channels (or more) mixer a mixing
• Eight input video mixer a producing
• Seven high end gigs a paying
• Six light panels a lighting
• Five AG-HMC150s a shooting
• Four quality tripods supporting
• Three pretty ladies assisting
• Two million in the bank accounting
• One new PT Cruiser a rolling
• And a partridge in a pear tree...

If you have enough left over to buy a Sony DVW-970 then you didn't spend enough on your self. Those bad boys start at $60K.

And yes that poem was classy ... and yes :)~~~~ Classy is a word :)"

this year there is likely to be a new video capable d-slr under the tree for me.

Pentax is due to announce it tomorrow at Photokina.

It (according to leaked and rumored specs) is to have outstanding low light and video performance.

af while recording...

av, tv, sv and full manual modes...

Yes, but will I be able to connect an external mic with the K-r? The corrected my initial beef by adding a rechargeable battery.

19. Earl, that is a great twelve days for a videographer. To tell you the truth, I would be happy with one of those HMC150's to start with. Maybe next year.
