I was just watching CNN and saw some really nice transitions that I'd like to use in my projects. The ones I'm looking for are:
    1) A morphing transition where one image/video morphs into another.
    2) A good flash transition. I know this could probably be done by animating some color correction parameter like levels but is there a built in transition for this as well?
    3) A blur transition where one image blurs out on the X-axis and another blurs in on the same axis (or have the blur be on both the X and the Y axis).

I've got Adobe Premiere CS3 so thats what I'll be working with. It doesn't seem to have a built in video transition that resembles what I'm looking for. Perhaps some additional package like Pinnacle Hollywood FX can provide this?
I've also got Adobe After Effects so I could do quite a bit of this and a lot more in there but when I try to drag and drop an After Effects composition into Premiere (just like it was shown in a Lynda.com training video), it gives me this error message: The Adobe Dynamic Link Feature requires Adobe Production Premium CS3.
What is this supposed to mean? Both the Premiere and After Effects versions that I've got are CS3 but why doesn't it work?

    1) sometimes a luma fade appears as if it is a morphing transition, you could try it, if not, you'll probably need some compositing software
    2) dip to white set to 3-5 frame duration
    3) many editing packages have something like this, I'm not sure if premiere does.

The dip to white flash is exactly the thing that I don't want. As for the luma fade, can it be done in After Effects?

luma fades are possible directly through premiere.
