    Hi folks,

Newbie here with a few questions.

I'm looking to film myself talking in front of a white background and was wondering what I should use for lighting. Right now I have a Canon Vixia HF M30 and filming in my apartment is just horrible due to the low light.

Therefore I was thinking of getting a lighting kit. I was thinking of getting something like this:

    http://www.amazon.com/CowboyStudio-Studio-Softbox-Lighting-Upgraded/dp/B002ZYQSJ6/ref=sr_1_65?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1291653028&sr=1-65

along with a white background from Cowboy Studios as well. Is this overkill for my needs? The video will be for a sales page on a website for a product that I will be selling.

Basically I want to create something that looks almost exactly like the guy talking in this video at this site: http://www.doubleyourdating.com

Any feedback or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

This might help.  Eric is really good and like many of us, does not have unlimited funds.

I find it easy and quick to just shot over a kayable bknd then key em over white. I maintan full control over shadows, ect this way and never have to speand more than a couple of minutes lighting.
