I have (actually my employer provides) a Dell Latitude D630 - It's Core 2 Duo w/2GB RAM and has a DL DVD burner.  I find this fine for using Vegas Pro 8/DVD Architect 4.5 with native AVCHD (MTS) files.

Renders faster than my 3.06GHz Xeon box.

  4. I own a small video production company that does event videography, training videos, and web advertisements.  I do all my editing on the HP HDX using Vegas Pro 8 and Architect 5.0.  It is a laptop in name only - 20 inch screen, 4gig ram, duo core 2.4 processors, (2) 160 gig drives and a dual layer, dual format, (lightscribe -worthless) burner.  This might be more than you need, but you certainly won't be disappointed.  Here is the cnet review   http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-pavilion-hdx/4505-3121_7-32442902.html?tag=vid.1&autoplay=true

    Hi Fallguy-

That's the D630, not D360. (I get dyslexic too sometimes)
