jvc MG-155 camcorder

   hello, I just purchased the mg-155 cam from jvc. ive had it for a few days and when I turn the cam off or close the screen the indicator lights flash then turn off. well today when I close the screen it quik shutdowns then the video recording symbol flashes, and keeps flashing. is there an option I switched on or a way to make it turn off when I quik close?  I dont mind turning it off when im done but its handy to be able to just open and shoot.
