Is this pure AE or with help of another animation prog?

   I just LOVED this clip and anyone who is into After Effects and animation will too:

   I wanted to ask if this clip can be made purely from Adobe After Effects, or do you need other 3D Animation programs as well?

   I don't use AE so I may not be accurate but it looks like 3D animation. I use 3D studio max but rarely. I use Premiere, Photoshop, Encore and Audition all the time. If AE does all that, I may need to look into it again.
