is FX7 in non-hdv better in low light?

    was just wondering whether the FX7 produces a better low-light image when NOT shooting in hd?....If so please provide a link.

     NO....same target area is being utilized.  In 4:3.....softer picture because only a poretion of the chip is targeted.

    You camera will perform exactly the same whether it is shooting HD or SD but if your out put is SD DVD your SD footage may look better because of the compression that is involved in encoding. I have two FX1000 and my footage is never the problem, it is the encoding. The blacks look much better and there is less digital noise if I use the camera to downsample the file when I author to DVD. If you find a better way to encode please let us know. Gerry in Calgary.
