Into to a movie

   Ok I am new to editing. I have been watching some videos on the net and at the start they have like a little intro. It s like the company who produced it and they do cool effects with the name. Kind of what 20th century fox does at the start of their movies but on a smaller scale. Anyways, what program would you use to create these. thanks in advance

   I use Adobe After Effects & Premiere Pro to create my intros but there are many options. Ulead has cool3D for 3D Text also. After Effects comes with a Plug in you can get called Zakswerks which can do 3d text also. Music can be created in Acid Music or Smart sound. Smart sound demo versions are sometimes packaged with other products. You can also create images/layers in photoshop to import to After effects.

   Good info, but you can do nice stuff without the expensive software too.
   
   I have Premiere Pro, but have gotten so used to Studio 9 (a $99 program) that I haven't really taken the time to learn Premiere.
   
   Pinnacle's Studio9 comes with SmartSound and lots of transitions and effects. Sometimes you just have to be creative. I wanted an image (created with Photoshop) to spin and grow until it filled the screen but there wasn't an effect with Studio that did that.
   
   There was, however a transition that spun the screen smaller and smaller leaving the new scene filling the screen. So I found an effect that would reverse a scene and reversed the transition so that it now does what I want.
   
   Add a drum roll, a little SmartSound and, Viola! - my own special effects intro - all on the cheap.
