I have a scene I'm in the process of setting up for a test filming/ special FX editing type situation. However, I have no idea how to do this.

The scene calls for a man that is crying and wearing regular clothes to suddenly seeing his tears disapate and his clothes change from regular to an eloguent outfit. Exactly what do I need to pull off this kind of effect?
    Thanks!

Lock down the camera and record the man in both outfits making sure he is standing directly in the same spot. Then you can do a slow dissolve from one shot to the next! Or you can try some free morphing software. http://www.debugmode.com

I had this challenge once in spot for a mens
    dress shop.
1.Off camera range give the actor 1 or even 2 specific
points to focus on (if you plan for them to move) this
way their movement will be the same in both costume changes.
    2. Shoot the shots of both costumes about 4-5 times each.
(you will get 2-3 shots of each suit (costume) that match
with the actors movement. In fact time the move with a
stop watch about 3-5 seconds or less.
    3. In the final suit (costume) your actor is in shoot
tight shots of his or her face for reaction of your actor.
In the edit process use shots in step 3 and cut them in
during the cross dissolve or linear dissolve of the change.
This way it doesn't look like StarTrek...
Our spot eneded looking like the Startrek effect because
we didn't do the tight shot in the morph sequence.
Good Luck and I hope this helps...
