High School Student Looking to get into video career

Do you have any tips on editing software, cameras (cheap, like just to start out on) and schools to go to? I think I want to be an event videographer, and I've actually already done some fundraiser videos for my H.S. Band, but wonder If I will make decnt money as an evnt videogropher..... Like I said, I'm open to suggestions.

Your question is much too broad to get an answer to. You need to research this and other forums. In other words, do some work on your own. The answers are out there, but they are not just in the form of a "yes" or "no." There are high-paying jobs in this industry and there are low ones. It depends upon your skills. First of all, you need to figure out if you have any talent. That's very subjective, but a school will help dtermine that.

Sounds like a wedding videographer is right up your alley! There are probally multiple companies that specialize in this in your area. Look a few up and see if you can get them to let you be an intern or better yet a payed assistant! There's nothing better than learning the ropes from a mentor and getting some realworld experience.
