Graphic/Video card dilemma

   Any suggestions for a video card that can handle basic editing...our system is a Dell,XP Professional,2GB Memory,2 Hard drives,cd&dvd drive..Is etc.Previous card was an ATI 256MB DDR RADEON 9800XT which has gone bad after only 18 months and is not under warranty because it was in a Dell package.Can anyone suggest a similar card that is not so pricey ,this one being $500.00 dollars...I would appreciate any help on this matter.......THX Tess
