Graphic card choice seems like such an important part for the editing computer, but all the turnkey and sales businesses have different ideas of what to buy. Does anybody have an Idea of what to really look for and what has worked for extensive video creation? Some say using ATI's 9800 PRo, ATI's x800, Nvidia geoforce, Nvidia Quadro Fx, 3d labs vp, Matrox Parhelia, and etc. Some are meant for games but work fine for video...some are cheap and some not. Can an Ati 9800 or geoforce 5700 do just as good as a more expensive quadro fx 1000 or a 3dlabs vp 870? Is there any video editing testing sites or information that truly can help?

Now the big question is, what software will you be using? A lot of editing software doesn't take adavantage of the extra umph of the graphics card. Pinnacle Edition is the exception which utilizes the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) to render work in the background.
