I'm planning on purchaseing the GL2 soon. But before I do, I would like to get some feedback on the GL2 if any of you have it. Particularly with the audio. Thanx

I use a Canon GL-1 with the Beachtek adapter, and it works great. So, I would assume that with the GL2 and the hotshoe mounted microphone adapter, it would be just as good. Plus, you have more control over the input levels with the GL2.

I don't know if you've already purchased your Canon GL-2 yet, but I also thought about buying one last year before I
looked around and read about some of the features and advantages of other three chip camcorders, particularly the Sony VX2000. I have since purchased a VX2000 and am very happy with it. I did some research on some of these prosumer camcorders and found out that the Sony VX2000 has larger ccd chips than the Canon GL-2, and larger chips means more resolution and sharpness, not to mention better low light resolution.

I'm not knocking Canon or any of their cameras as I know they make very good high quality gear, but when you're looking around for the best value for your dollar, especially in the price range of three chip prosumer camcorders, I prefer Sony myself. Now I know Canon makes camcorders that outdo the Sony VX2000, but you're talking about going into the 4, 5, or even $6000.00 range.

If you're in the market for a good 3 chip prosumer camcorder, do yourself a favor and check out what else is out there before you lay down big bucks.

    Good luck, Tunes Man.
