I have Roxio Videowave Movie Creator as an editing software. This is my first attempt at video editing and I was very excited until I finally edited a wedding and went to burn it on a DVD. When I rendered it the video became out of sync making my nice music transitions and edits lousy. I tried defragging and other stuff suggested by to no avail. I guess my Roxio software is useless to me. Can anyone suggest a better software? I have Windows XP, 797MHZ
    384MB of Ram.

Sony's Movie Studio software. The 99$ little brother to Vegas. Free demo's at their site. you'll love it!

I have Videowave 4.0 (bundled with my digital camera) and it never failed me, but I just "out-grew" it. I now use Sony Vegas Movie Studio 4.0a, as I could never learn Premiere (except for small tasks). Never considered Pinnacle Studio - maybe if I buy a Pinnacle card.

I don't have Roxio, but it appears that your problem is well documented and that this particular software is not ranked very highly among its users. (See CNET.com rankings).

Assuming your computer is properly configured, you're not likely to have these issues with any other NLE program.

Don't give up on computer editing programs. There are plenty of people doing great stuff with inexpensive software like Sony's Movie Studio and Pinnacle's Studio 9.

Aside to "svhs" - you do not need a Pinnacle card (DC-10, etc) to use Studio 9 with a digital camera.
