I'd like to know of sites (if there are any at all) that offer free stock footage. I know that sometimes even sites that sell stock footage offer some free stuff- anyone know of any?
    Thanks in advance.

    The Prelinger Archives (http://www.archive.org/details/prelinger)

    Footage Firm (http://www.footagefirm.com/freeclips.asp)

There are more but these two have the most (especially Prelinger).

You can also find good stock footage for reasonable prices (like when Digital Juice runs a special on their VideoTraxx - I bought all three volumes for under $400 combined - over 100 DVD's filled with RF footage).

I've been thinking of getting Videotraxx but where did you get all 3 together? On their website, I just saw the three being sold seperately for 349$ a piece.
And by the way, what are the differences between the three volumes? Do they all cover more or less the same topics or are they different?

They have had some killer deals the past couple of months. Right now if you buy a two-pack of their mix-n-match packages for $100, you get three of their newest packages for free plus you can add-on any volume of VideoTraxx for $99. So for around $200, you'll get about $850 worth of product. If you want to do better, you can build a ten-pack for $249 plus get the three freebies and the $99 add-on so for about $350 you'll get about $1650 worth of product.

    Not a bad deal!

As I said, they've been having some great deals as of late but I'm told those days are short lived - You may want to act quickly, or wait for Christmas when they run some killer deals as well.

As far as topics - They are all a bit different. It helps to have all three. They show all the different clips on the website - you should go look.

Thanks for the info. I'll be on the lookout for a good offer since Videotraxx seems like the best stock footage source out there.

I'm new at some of the terms. Can you please explain what 'stock footage' is?

Stock footage is library footage, footage available for use in productions. Here is a more detailed overview:

Ok, just took advantage of their special offer and got for 200 $ Videotraxx Vol 1, some Swipes and Jumpbacks and a bunch of bonus stuff.
Speaking of which, can anybody venture a guess as to how long it might take for a package to be delivered via FedEx from the US to Estonia?

    Estonia - Wow!!!!

I would think more than the standard three days it takes to get to me in NY City. They ship from their HQ in Florida.

Glad you took advantage of the deal they have going - They have been very sweet as of late!

Actually, you might want to ask them on their forums - They have a very active and informative message board, plus a Thursday night chat.
