That's crazy! It definitley opens the door to many new and creative possibilities. Time will tell if 3-D really takes off like some are predicting.

well, my opinion is that its not so much about 3d format as about aplication of 3d. i truly believe that pleasentness of expirience is the powering element and if 3d will be available in comfortable form for end viewers then thats the way to go.

Cinema is something different as everybody can enjoy 3d with special spectacles for 1,5 hours, but at home with tiny 50" tv-s its not much of sense and enjoyment. And the 3d TVs that use prism technology, are not fun to wach for a long time.

So i would stick for usual 2d HD for a while. :-)

How will we edit the footage? Any hints as to how that will work? I don't see just dropping the footage into FCP and knocking it out.

I have Used Vegas pro 10 to edit a few 3D clips from my new 3D cam this past week.  Yes it is just about as simple as dropping the footage in and editing it just like any other piece of 2D footage.

NOTE: You MUST view these on YouTube to be able to choose the 3D filter.  After I uploaded these I found the plug-in option to help change the conversion point or "horizontal offset" which did make for a bit more comfortable viewing.  I may get some samples up in the near future, but in any case it works well!

@ Doublehamm: Does that camcorder save two separate video files for each clip or is it a single file with "double vision"?

I'm interested because I've been experimenting with a beam splitter that does the latter.

Seems like Vegas 10 could make the workflow a lot easier if it handles files like that.

THe Panasonic HDC-SDT750 that I have saves it all in one file.  So technically the images are about half 1080p as they both share the 1080 space, but it still works well for its purpose and the consumer pricing it brings along.

The Pro 3D Camcorder that Panasonic has (AG-3DA1) I believe creates two separate full HD files.  But Vegas Pro 10 can handle either format just fine.  I think the $1,400 consumer price is pretty fair to the $21,000 you would pay for the pro cam.

Of course there are other ways to do it as well, your beam splitter has me a bit intrigued!

If you look at the screenshot YouTube gives, that is pretty much how the video looks coming out of the camera with no 3D filters on.

Hi guys, I realy need your help since I'm new in 3D staff

Once HDC-SDT750 captured in side-by-side method, is it possible see my 3D film in any 3D TV? Or I must see it in a Panasonic 3D TV?

May I edit my films in Adobe Premier CS5 normally as i do with HD film or need something else?

    Thanks.

I am pretty sure any of the new 3D televisions support the side by side format of these cameras.  I do not know of any requirement for editing, though Vegas 10 does support 3D editing, in that you can output it in many formats, and adjust the conversion point in post.  Other than that straight up editing like any video I think works just as well.
