FCE Print to Video

   I'm a beginner trying to migrate from iMovie to Final Cut Express.  I did some basic editing in FCE and now want to Print to Video.  I don't have a tape deck so I'm attempting to use my camera VCR.  I have a Sony Z5U.  Everything seems fine.  The Print to Tape process activates my VCR.  It starts and stops with commands from FCE.  However, there is nothing recorded when I try to play back.  I'm sure I'm making a simple mistake...I just don't know what the mistake is.  Can anyone help?

    Your firewire is hot all the time so it's an input setting in your camera. Set it according to how you are outputting, hd, sd, ect. When it's working right, you will see signal in it's lcd screen in real time.

   Thanks grinner!  I've tried these suggestions but still no luck.  I'll keep trying different settings.
