    Hello,

I have a video that was filmed with a Sony camcorder by holding the camcorder vertically. In order to view this video properly, I have to rotate the image by 90 degrees. Is there any editing software that can do that? I would like to retain the original sound that was recorded.

The camcorder is Sony DCR-HC40. Software that comes with this camcorder does not have any such features.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Sony's Screenblast movie studio has a feature that will allow you to do this. It's great entry software and a bargain at 100 bucks. But if all you want to do is rotate the clip and that's it. Try Virtual Dub. http://www.virtualdub.org/

Have you tried applying a transition filter? Set the filter to start and stop at the same point and rotate the image 90 deg using the x and y coordinates.

Not sure if you have this capability in your software.
