Check out the buyer's guide in the current issue, on sale now. I'll also have the DVD authoring software buyer's guide online updated very soon to show the new products. One of the fields is whether the software outputs to DLT (digital linear tape)--so the device in question is a DLT drive. They're expensive ($2,000 is the usual going price for a DLT drive at the major mail-order houses), but if you've got a lot of data to back up, they're nice to have around. This is why it's a natural format for DVD authoring. The only reason to put your project on a DLT (other than to back it up) is to ship it off to a duplication house. -Charles Fulton, Associate Editor, Videomaker Magazine
