     Hi,

A dvd with some personal film on will not be recognised by any editing program I have. I have copied it onto the computer fine but WMM or Corel wont see it.

I cant provide a picture as it asked for URL. I think I need to change the format of the clips? The name of the clip is TS.IFO?

PS. does anyone know how to change my password - its complicated and a pain.

     dingdong,

Your TS.IFO file is not a video file - the .ifo extension is simply an information file associated with a video file.

The actual video files on a DVD should have a .VOB extension.

Look for the .VOB files on your disc - these are the actual video files - they should be named something like "VTS_01_0.VOB"

More than likely, these will need to be converted to a different file format before being imported into your editing app. Not many programs will import and edit .VOBs natively.

You can convert them easily with a free little program called MPEG Streamclip - downlaodable from http://www.squared5.com

Good luck - let us know how it goes!
