I am working on a project that involves using still from a photographer with the video I shot. The photographer is asking me what DPI or size I want the photo.

Sooooo, what should I tell him?

    Double question, double answer:
Resolution: 720x480 for NTSC / 720x576 for PAL
DPI: 72 dpi will suffice. The more, the better.

I like to keep my digital photos around 1.5M. More than that, your system will struggle to render a large photo into a workable video image size.
