   i just got my DCRVX1000 from a goverment acuction . it has a verry good  picture. the problem is the vewfinder it gos dark you can still see a image but it is black .the output is good i think lhe backlight for the lcd gos out if you turn it off it comes on sometimes hit and miss i got it to stay on for 8 min and it recored verry nice any ideas how to fix this i think its will be a great camera if i can fix the vewfinder

   sounds as if the camera needs to be serviced.  these cameras don't have anything that you can fix, you'll need to ship it to a sony certified service center to be repaired.  It could cost a bit of money too...
