CS5 External Monitor issue

    well I finally fooled around with hooking up an external monitor for my first HD wedding. I got it working fine with my video card, nvidia Geforce 450. I didnt have an dvi to hdmi adapter so I used an dvi to standard video cable? forget the name..15 pin thingy. I notice the picture is very soft compared to my computer monitor? Could the cable make the difference? I will pickup the dvi to hdmi today and see.

   external monitor is a samsung HD/TV 1920x1080..it has 2 hdmi,and one standard monitor inputs.

   When you're working with HD resolution, 1920 x 1080, then yes, you want to stay away from VGA cables and stick with DVI or even HDMI cables.
