computer detecting camcorder, but that's about it!

   I'm stumped and don't know what to do from here.  I have a JVC Camcorder DVL505 and when I plug it into the computer via firewire, the computer detects it by making a "bleep" sound and same when I shut it off.  However, I cannot locate it either in My Computer nor Windows Movie Maker.   Can anyone help me please???????????????
