Compatible Ed Software for VDR dvd camera's.

   I have a VDR D300 Panasonic camera. Great camera.
   I am curious what movie making software has been updated to work with this type. (it has no firewire port. USB only)
   
   I bought the camera thinking it would be wise since rendering a final video to dvd can take a loooong time.
   I thought, since footage on this cam would be captured as dvd format, it wouldnt take as long to render. ?
   Does that make sense?
   Or does that just now mean i now have to convert from camera/dvd to pc, then from pc to dvd? lol

   I wanted to add,
   
   I believe this camera records in Mpeg2 format. Thats why i bought it thinking it would be a faster conversion after going through an editing program such as Vegas or whatever.
