I am needing to do some commentary for a video I am making and am interested in doing it through my computer and my xlr mics. Right now I am doing it with my camcorder, and my beachtek DXA-4S, which works but I would rather have it on the computer than on tape.

Does anyone know of a program (for mac) that I can use where I would plug my dxa-4s into my audio in jack, and record from that? Or would I have to get something like the iMic or powerwave to do that? Any suggestions?

A little off-topic, but on some of the commentary I am going to have to film myself. Any hints on what to do? What background to have? What to look at while I am talking, speaking tips? I want to make it as professional as possible. Thank You.

I always recorded my self in my coat closet with the camera on a tripod angled up at my mouth. I didn't want to record anywhere near my computer because of the noisy fans. I never looked at a playback monitor, i just arranged the audio clips where I needed them in my NLE.
