     Hi all,

I record high school basketball games for local cable - I mic both of my announcers with wired lavs - every once in a while I get a loud tick-tick-tick noise that may last for up to 10 seconds - completely random timing. Only thing I can possibly think of is a cell phone - is it possible for cell phone interference to get into a hard-wired setup? Thanks!

Definitely! I've found that I tend to get interference more often with phones that are on Cingular's network. I believe it has to do with the frequency spectrum they use.

You could always build a Faraday cage around your equipment.
