I have a Dell Studio 540 with Vista 64 bit and have not been able to capture HD video from my Canon HV10 to Roxio 2009.  I have been told that capture is not compatable with 64 bit althouh once captured, processing is superior to 32 bit.  I have searched in vain for a program that can be used to caprture and asked Roxio and Microsoft if there is a fix on the way but no satisfactory answer.  I'm sure someone has the solution.

Windows Movie Maker is considered the lowest common denominator for capturing video when nothing else works. Give that a shot. (Also try the Windows Live Essentials version of Movie Maker, it adds a few little things and is free--find it on Windows Update.)

I'll try the update. Windows Movie Maker did not do it.

I am surprised that Roxio has not fixed it.

I tried it and although the Windows Live Essentials version of Movie Maker recognizes  the camera and says it is capturing, nothing appears on the screen or on the hard drive.  Any other ideas?
