Canon XM2 Kit and lighting

   Hi, 

   I came across an article about lighting on videomaker.com. I'm planning use the Canon XM2 Kit  to do some shooting and was considering buying the NRG Research Mite-Lite in case of low-light. Is this light 'universal' or does it only fit on certain cameras. Also, does it need any extra bits to fit to the camera or can you just tape it on? Very new to all this so I apologize in advance if my question sounds silly.
