Canon XHA1 recording issues

    Ok so i have a canon xha1 and i took my camera out one night to film in an abandoned house and it was raining a little bit not too hard and i got a little bit of rain on it, it turns on and i hit record and the timecode is counting like it is recording but when i go to play it back it reads the tape as blank? Any help or ideas on why it is doing this would be great.

   Sounds broken, maybe you should check it...

   Forum readers may benefit from knowing if you you heard audio i.e. the sound of rain dissolving your bank account. You might say if you have tried that same tape and it works fine, or doesn't. Even other tapes since the rain incident. Were you recording with the lens cap on? Were you in manual mode and didn't compensate for the room light?
