I am new to this forum and interested in going into wedding videography. I noticed there are a lot of posts about camcorders and wedding videography. I hate to add more to the subject but I was wondering if a Canon XH-A1 would be a good camera to use to shoot a wedding.

If not what would you recommend? I am using an Apple iMac with Final Cut Pro Software.

Weddings and especially receptions can be very low-light affairs. Even with 1-Lux cameras, we sometimes have to cut shutter speed to 1/30 sec.

The only 2 1-Lux prosumer models I know of are VX2100 and PD170 both Sonys. Sony makes a 3-Lux HDV cam - the FX1 and so do one or two other manufacturers. The 3-Lux would work in about 80% of situations. In the others, you'll have a dark, de-saturated, grainy image.
