   Im thinking about buying this camera for my family events etc: but what do you all think about it. Have any of you all used it before? Do you like it ? etc
   
   If not...is there anyother camera you all would reccemend?
   
   P.S. I would also like to buy an external mic for this camera since it has an option for audio but I wish it had an XLR conntector...it has a 1/8 jack but what kind of mics can i plug in there...can i plug in like a real micerphone that like the people on the news use?

   You're not likely to find a camera with XLR inputs in this price range. The good news is that you can get adapters fairly cheaply, try http://www.bhphotovideo.com & J & R Music (www.jr.com). But you'll find those XLR mics are beyond the weekly allowance of the average 13 yr old also. (Shucks, most of them are beyond MY allowance!)
   
   You can get lav and handheld mics for 1/8 connectors from about thirty dollars and up. These will be a big improvement over your camcorder's built-in microphone.
