cameras on a budget under $500

   im looking for a good durable camera, im make a bunch of short films and this summer making a documentary of a band on tour so im looking for a good quality camera that can take some heat and beatings, any ideas?

   I use a Sony HC-40 (they have a newer model now) and I like it for the most part - Just be aware that whatever you choose, nothing in that price range will be very durable so you may need to be a bit gentle with it.
