Boom solution for HDR-FX1

   This camcorder doesn't have an XLR port, but rather a mic in. What's a good boom pole/microphone/adapter solution for less than $400?

   Hi,
   I keep seeing this question on the net about how to get around hiring a professional soundman for this typical example of matching a broadcast quality video camera with pro sound.
   One of the video production toys isn't electronic and likes to be fed well on set. This would be the person mixing a chest mike/shotgun on the fly with his own headphone monitor/mixer box/feed to an impedence matcher at the camera and into its switched-on audio line input.
