Best program to convert DVD’s to iPad?

     Now that I have iPad, I plan to convert my most frequently watched DVD’s to iPad. What is the best program to do this?   I have heard some are good at converting to Video iPod but I’m not sure what kind of quality I will get on the nice screen with my iPad. Some converting programs, Xilisoft, handbrake, Winxdvd, Wondershare??

   They are partial to MP4 with H.264 so anything that will convert to that - I know most NLE's will output that.

   I've read that people use the exact same compression for the iPad that they use for the iPhone, they just change the resolution settings to match the resolution of the iPad.
