I don't agree with your choice of the Sharp VL-Z7U as 2003's best camcorder for under $1,200. The description states

The VL-Z7U was of the most pleasant cameras we used this past year, with comfortable controls at a comfortable price. The quality of both the video and the stills (1.33 megapixel) were quite remarkable and we wouldn't have given this camera the award without that. Don't expect to find this camera in stores at $900: you should be able to find it for considerably less, making it quite a bargin.

I looked at this camera and found it very awkward. The rotating tape holder vs. the actual lens and controls was extremely odd for me to use. I also think that the stills are absolutely horrible.. take a look in this review at http://www.dvspot.com : http://www.dvspot.com/reviews/sharp/vl_z7u-review/DVC00010.JPG

Anyway, I appreciate that you guys put that stuff out. I found this issue to be really helpful and enjoyable to read.
