avchd dvd/ blu ray author

    is authoring a blu ray on a dvd in sony vegas the same as burning a avchd dvd with picture motion browser?

   sorry for the late response, been busy. 

   i mean when i use sony picture motion browser it allows me to burn my footage from my hdr-sr12 directly to a dvd in the avchd format which can be played back in a blu ray player. (i have a ps3). but with the limited editing capabilities i have been using sony vegas instead and from what i understand i can burn a dvd w/ my edited HD content by going to Tools, burn disc, blu ray disc which will basically burn the blu ray data on a dvd which can be played back in a blu ray player. i havent done this yet, but i was just wondering if it is the same thing as burning an avchd dvd in picture motion browser.
